Stephen Sondheim
Sondheim’s reaction to the announcement that the Henry Miller’s Theatre will be renamed The Stephen Sondheim Theatre:
The Sondheim 80 Gala, March 22, 2010.

I’m sure that our desire to collaborate with Stephen Sondheim once again requires very little explanation. He is, after all, perhaps the definitive musical theater artist of his generation, as well as a recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and more Tony Awards for Best Score than any other composer and lyricist in history. Roundabout’s relationship with the work of Stephen Sondheim began with Company in 1995 and continued with revivals of Follies, Assassins, Pacific Overtures, and Sunday in the Park with George, as well as last year’s gala concert reading of A Little Night Music. I’m so proud to have this longstanding collaboration with Steve, which makes it particularly exciting to be bringing you a new view of his work through Sondheim on Sondheim.
