2009-2010 Season
Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) announced a two-week extension of Sondheim on Sondheim starring Barbara Cook, Vanessa Williams, and Tom Wopat, now through Sunday, June 27th, 2010.
Congratulations to the winners of The Glass Menagerie video contest!
Roundabout asked students grades 7-12 to create a 2-5 minute video of a dramatic reading, creative interpretation, or scene from The Glass Menagerie.
First Place: Manhattan Theatre Lab High School’s Advanced Acting & Intermediate Acting Class won a class field trip to see THE GLASS MENAGERIE, a backstage tour and a 2-hour pre-show workshop led by a Roundabout teaching artist at the theatre. Their teacher will receive a 3-play Subscription to Roundabout’s 2010/2011 season.
Congratulations again to all who participated.
SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM opened last night, and the critics have weighed in:
“What better birthday present could Stephen Sondheim receive than a chance to finally star in his own Broadway show? MUSICAL THEATRE’S GREATEST LIVING COMPOSER AND LYRICIST, who turned 80 in March, is getting just that with Sondheim on Sondheim, the FUNNY, AFFECTIONATE AND REVEALING tribute that opened Thursday at Studio 54.”
